I took Lauren to the doctor today and she is one hepatitis shot richer. She's 10 months old today, and weighs 16 pounds almost exactly and is 27 and 3/8 inches tall. The doctor is a little concerned that her weight is not higher, but I think Lauren and William both have been blessed with their father's genetic predispostitions. They both eat very well, and do not seem to have any real physiologic issues which would account for their minimal weight gain. I wonder if Lauren's doctor took one look at me (maybe she didn't remember what John's stature is like?) and thought, "there is no way this baby should be so small." Or maybe not. This particular doctor seems to be more by the book careful than Lauren's regular doctor. The regular doctor is a bit crusty around the edges, but he has decades of experience (he was my pediatrician, and God knows I should be sporting a cane by now.)|||78791847|||
