1/23/2003 01:30:04 PM|||Amy|||L - Because I saw a ghost movie once where the heroine was named Annalise, and I discovered after I thought about it for a little while that I didn't like the name. (It had nothing to do with the character being unnervingly dumb and played by a second rate actress.) The name Annalisa is too damn obvious, and could give her a complex about not having her own name. At least when Lauren develops this complex, I can tell her with total honesty to blame her father and that I would have named her Anna, Isabella, Katherine (Katie) or Sophia (Sophie) if it were only my decision to make.
I really like Sophie, but one of my PIs just had a baby and named her that.
You're right about Ciaran. We could probably only really have any success with that if we were living in Ireland.
(Alert: shameless attempt to get you to buy me stuff) I don't have a copy of Beyond Jennifer & Jason, Madison & Montana : What To Name Your Baby Now, but I wouldn't turn it away if it were sent to me :>)
But L - I have a very important story to relate which will stress the importance of your ongoing positive relationship with your sister's apparently unending offspring!
William's teacher put a very colorful handmade sign up on her door yesterday which said, "Congratulations to William! He can read simple sentences!" I asked her today what happened to spark that and she said that yesterday, he went up to a poster she has in her room and started reading the short, simple sentences on the poster. She had never read this poster out loud to the class before and I never read it to him. So, he actually did read it and wasn't reciting the words from memory. She asked him if I had been working with him and he said no (to my shame), but that he has a leap pad.
He really likes the leap pad, as does Lauren. Lauren has even figured out how to play with it. He wants the books about physical anatomy, etc. next. He's very interested in geography and the parts of the body.
I just had lunch, and am in recovery mode. Ever since I found out I was pregnant again, I've stopped trying to be careful about food. Mostly, I don't want to get nauseous, but some days it's a damned if you, damned if you don't situation.
