The only other time I had been there was just after it opened several years ago, and the only thing it had going was the penguin playground. It has gotten a whole lot better. The second and third floors have been turned into a rainforest with walking paths. Monkeys, large pink birds and other creatures, including a crocodile and a couple of otters, flitted, flew and swam through their carefully constructed habitats.

One of those birds, my friends said it was a toucan, spit half of its mango lunch right on to the top of Lauren's head. She was surprised, but not hurt. She was, however, indignant at the amount of water and manipulation it took to get that crap out of her hair. Another bird aimed its after lunch poop for her stroller, but we moved just in time.

William loved the manatees. He wanted to return to them again and again. He even shared some apple juice with Lauren.

When we got home, I was so zonked that I could only lay down and moan. The kids slept like rocks that night.|||87850381|||
