1/2/2003 10:31:10 AM|||Amy|||Well, one nasty stomach flu and incredibly depressing New Year's Eve and Day later, I'm back with a whole new set of my top ten New Year's resolutions.
1) To get down to and learn to maintain a healthy weight - if for no other reason than to not end up like my mother.
2) Buy a car and get my finances together, even if I have to get a second job or rob a bank to do it.
3) Be a better mother by taking the kids to the park on the weekends (more often than not), helping my son find positive ways to solve his problems instead of yelling when he becomes frustrated or upset the way his parents and grandparents do, and finding more creative ways to sneak or better, encourage, healthy foods into their diets.
4) Be a more productive worker.
5) Figure out which calling exactly I've missed and then try to unearth the hidden means by which to get it back.
6) Decide if I'm going to stay or go in matters which I can only discuss in my other, super-secret blog.
7) Be a better friend.
8) Get a handle on my depressive tendencies (drink more coffee) and other miscellaneous personality disorders (drink even more coffee and possibly start taking drugs.)
9) Get the hell out of Hell Town because... well... in all honesty I am afraid I am going to end up like my parents and I've already stayed too long in the insidious grasp of their horribly negative, but well meant, influences.
10) Be not just a better friend, but more conscientious to my family both near and far.
