4/23/2003 01:09:58 PM|||Amy|||Monkey went to the doctor today for her well-child check-up. She is in the 25th percentile for weight (21 pounds) and the 25th for height (31 inches). So, she's short and thin. Could be worse. She eats well, and lately since the Easter Bunny left its Easter droppings in our house, she's been a real candy hound. For right now anyway, I think it's safe to say that she too is taking after her Daddy.

Today a professor from UCLA is here to give a lecture. He is an amazingly handsome (and succesful) man, but happily ensconced in family life. He gave me a really nice compliment. He said that an email I sent him to find out about his Audio Visual needs is most likely going to be used to prepare for University speakers at UCLA. He said it asked all the right questions, and was sent far enough in advance to give fair warning that he might need to surrender his computer for set-up. I'm so proud of myself! I just showed his cv to one of my faculty, and it turns out that this guy did his post-doc under a Nobel prize winner, and his graduate work under another famous biologist. I think he is a minor celebrity in his own right.
