The entire Kindergarten class ascended risers on the stage in the school's cafeteria immediately following a general election of the PTA in which no one wanted to be nominated, and they sang two lovely little songs. I think, "Skidamirinkadoo" and "I've Got Something In My Pocket." I don't remember much because I was trying to keep Monkey from making a break for parts unknown, and to keep tears from falling into the camera I was using to record the event. As I stood there weeping and feeling certain that I couldn't possibly be alone in those tears, I wondered if I will always see my baby boy in my son as he grows up.
