However, in true irony, she fell over a curb and screwed up her ankle so badly that now she is rendered immobile. I spent the day in the emergency room with her today so that she could get her ankle treated before she tries to board a plane for home tomorrow evening.

I would just like to say to the Universe, God, fate, the Drama Fairy, whatever: could you just forget about us for a little while and let us catch our breath and catch up?
