When the 7 of us (myself, children's father, Winston, Bear, Monkey, Grandma and Grandpa) woke that morning, we sang Happy Birthday to a very happy Winston. As much as I wanted to be with Winston, I spent the day doing things such as returning the steam cleaner I had rented over the weekend, picking up her birthday cake from the grocery store (because there was no way I would have the time to bake a cake - even though I actually did bake a cake for both Bear and Monkey. I am so sorry, Winston, but with all three of you home and a house to clean and party preparations to be made - there is really no way I had the time or the energy to make a cake. There was also a little problem in that the oven doesn't really work, and any baking would have to be done at the home of my admittedly very generous and understanding and compassionate friends. I hope that you, Winston, Monkey and Bear, also one day have generous, understanding and compassionate friends who will let you use their oven when yours is really only suited to heating up frozen lasagnas over a four hour period.) However, Winston and I did go to the mall together to get her picture taken and I kissed her and sang Happy Birthday to her at least 200 times.
By nightfall, the presents were bought (Monkey and I went out in the afternoon and did a little birthday shopping - something else I just hadn't gotten to before the actual day of the birthday) and wrapped. The house was clean enough for guests - what with the clean carpet and all. Party favors and hats were set out (I put one of each in your baby box, Winston) and all that had to be done were for the four people we had invited, and were expecting, to arrive. These included my brother, and Winston's Godfather, his wife and their daughter. This part didn't go so well, but everyone showed up eventually. We had cake, ice cream and took lots of baby covered in cake pictures. I haven't given Winston ice cream yet, but the day will come soon enough. Winston loves cake. God love her. She loves to eat, and sometimes gets very, very angry if you don't give her food fast enough.|||109511633740065329|||Baby Eats Cake
