What I did not realize is that soy milk is apparently a hell of a lot tastier than formula, and now Winston refuses to drink anything other than the cascading smoothness and refreshing taste of cold vanilla soy. I can tell already that she is going to spend her college years drinking only the finest, imported beers (no Bud for my girl!) and then will eventually have a wine cellar stocked with nothing that could possibly be mistaken for having been produced by a company so reknowned as say, Boone's Farm.

I arrived home last night after seeing Bright Young Things (for free!) and found Winston playing on the couch. She and I made quite a dent into the night playing peek-a-boo, and watching Hurricane Ivan coverage. She climbed up and down on me, and then when she spied the remote control for the tv - she went nuts. I don't know why she likes the remote so much, but she tries to eat it whenever it's anywhere near her. She makes beelines for it. I can only imagine that it must be mighty tasty from all the unwashed hands that handle it.

Finally, at about 2, she fell asleep and we went to bed. Normally, I will take her to bed, turn off all the lights and she will fall asleep in the quiet and darkness. She cries for a few seconds when she realizes that she's about to be put to bed and therefore, expected to fall asleep. But, she doesn't disappoint. She stops crying quickly, and will go right to sleep most of the time. However, last night, for whatever reason I wanted to wait for her to go to sleep on her own. I wanted to spend time just playing with her without having to worry about all the million and one things which usually compose our evenings.
