This morning I woke her up when I got out of bed, and she begged me to come back to bed and go to sleep. "Work is stupid! Stupid Work!" she said, and while I could only agree - I also had to tell her as best as I could that work pays the bills. This is the way our mornings usually go. Sometimes she is more calm, and won't cry at the door as I rush out. She will simply lay on the couch, drink milky, chew on a breakfast bar and watch Dora (the Explora). Most every morning she will sit on her little potty seat in the bathroom and wait for me while I shower. She will plead with me, even before I get in the shower, to not shower.
Monkey has taken to sleeping on my legs at night. I think this is her version of a trip alarm. When I get up in the morning, I will inevitably wake her up in the process of trying to extricate my own arms and legs from under those of my children. I have roughly one minute between the time I exit the room and the time she realizes I am no longer in bed. Then, I will hear the sounds of cries and wailing, and about 10 seconds later I will see a very tearful Monkey.
So, I cuddle with her before I shower, and then get her milky and breakfast before I leave her to Dora as I'm on my way out the door. Sweet little Winston usually sleeps through all of this. Winston eats and Winston sleeps like a champion.
