9/12/2004 10:06:02 AM|||Amy|||My baby Monkey turned three on Friday. We celebrated with a small family party at home, and cake! When I asked Monkey what I could make her for her special birthday dinner, she said she wanted green beans and cake, lots of it.

Yesterday morning I walked in a 5K walk in support of the families of fallen policemen and firemen. Then, I worked out. After all that, I took the kids to a local festival where they played on bounce houses and went deep sea fishing for plastic fish in a fountain. Apparently, my muscles twitched all night long last night. I was dog tired by the time I got to bed.

Last night I also attended a candlelit vigil for Baby Allie. It was very sweet and well attended. Wishing to find a cure for cancer isn't enough - but showing support for a baby dying from it is a start. There are so many children, adults, families affected by this, and there really isn't a way for any single individual to avoid it. You can choose to not engage in activities which increase your chances of developing cancer, such as smoking - but sometimes, no matter how well someone lives or how innocent they are, cells in their body will go haywire and then cancer.

Bear is climbing on the chair that I'm sitting on so forgive me for being trite.
