Winston

Wednesday, May 24th, 2006

Yesterday, on the way to pick up Bear and take him to school, I slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting an SUV or pick-up truck or something.  Winston, who was in the back seat, exclaimed.  “Whoa” she said, and I could see little exclamation points drifting above her sweet baby head.
She’s so damn cute.

A day is a day is a day is a day and ultimately, what does it really matter?

Today, I read my horoscope and it said fun is fun, but come on – stop all that fucking around and get to work. I thought, cool. Finally, my horoscope is telling me what I’ve been telling myself all along.
I have a real addiction going on match.com. I’m not really all that [...]

Catching Up

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

I realized this morning that I have some stories to tell from the last few days, but haven’t gotten around to telling them. On my birthday, I got up early, packed up my bike and after taking little Bear to school, I drove out to a local lake that has some really good cycling trails [...]

We are off to the gym, but this is just a note that at my weigh-in this morning, I am 4 pounds away from my next goal.  I have lost almost 20 pounds since beginning this thing.

Monkey:
I’ll take care of you when you’re old. I love you. I’ll let you go to sleep. I hope you have a nice day. When you are old, I’ll give you water if you want water – or milk, if you want milk. I love you – I’ll clean you [...]

Journey (Week 11)

Wednesday, May 10th, 2006

The kids and I went to the gym tonight. Before I dropped off the kids in the childcare center, I ducked into the changing room with Winston and Monkey to change a very soggy diaper. As I was bent over Winston on one of the benches, I heard a voice say, “Are you [...]

Journey (Week 11)

Tuesday, May 9th, 2006

I rode 43 miles on my bike on Sunday. The ride went very well, but the roads were a little “choppy” in places and the wind seemed to be against us for most of the ride. The weather was otherwise cool and there wasn’t any rain or difficult humidity.
When I started out, I [...]
